How to Help
Volunteers are the backbone of the CHAC program. Without volunteers to donate their time and services, we wouldn’t be able to make a difference in our community. CHAC has many different volunteer positions and we are sure to have one that is just right for you.
Office Volunteers
Clinic Receptionists assist the Pharmacy/Clinic Coordinator at our Volunteer Clinic. They greet CHAC patients as they arrive for their appointments, make sure all paperwork has been completed, schedule future visits, and also assist with completing Pharmaceutical Assistance Program (PAP) forms.
Enrollment Volunteers enroll patients into the CHAC program. They are responsible for educating patients on the program, completing required forms, and making referrals to other agencies as needed.
Medical Volunteers
Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners provide primary care exams to our patients. We do not do procedures during clinics.
Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Medical Assistants perform routine preparation for examination, including vital signs and review of medications.
For medical professionals who would like to volunteer in-office or clinic services, please call CHAC at 906-635-7483 and ask to speak with the Program Manager.
Office Volunteers assist the Administrative Coordinator with daily responsibilities of general office needs. CHAC Office Volunteers can assist by filing, typing, operate photocopiers, fax machines, and other office equipment; prepare mailings; proofread copies; and answer telephones and deliver messages. The Office Volunteer will generally be responsible for helping the office run smoothly and operate at the highest performance.
